Kelly Gray and Ray Wiley are co-founders of the Kettering-based Firemines LLC, cryptocurrency mining company in addition to their roles as Vice President and President of Kettering-based Hot Head Franchising Company. Kelly also continues in her role as a commercial real estate consultant.
Kelly and Ray begin their crypto journey by buying one Bitcoin in 2018 when Bitcoin was only $4,200 per coin. While skeptical at first, as is often the case with emerging industries, they begin doing research and watching the market. In 2019, they launched a test mining rig with a few employees at the Hot Head company. Within a year, they had a 100% return on their investment and decided to build a few more mining rigs with Ray’s college student son. By 2021, they founded Firemines, and today with their other mining companies own over 400 machines mining Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other “Alt” coins.
